Shelley claims second consecutive World Cup Series Silver and a European Championship bronze medal in the World Cup Final round in Igls Austria

Igls, Austria hosted the final round of the 2009/2010 World Cup series today which also doubled up as the 2010 European Championships, in which Shelley won the bronze medal.

Shelley Rudman ended a very successful world cup campaign with a 4th place to secure her the Silver medal in the overall series, her 2nd consecutive series silver medal. Shelley stayed strong to the end, but was pipped to the title by friend and Canadian Melissa Hollingsworth, who finished 2nd in today's race. Both sliders have been battling it out all season for the title.

"I am really pleased with my season and have held great form since November. I could not ask for more. I would like to thank Richard Bromley for his unwavering support through all the eight races. And of course the Bromley Formula Ice technology team who have painstakingly worked to give me one of the fastest sleds in the world. However we have one race left and we need to stay focussed. We await the decision on Olympic qualification "

Shelley's fiance Kristan Bromley races in tomorrow's men's final word cup race at 10am local time.
